Week 13

This is my last blog and it is sort of a bittersweet moment. I presented on Friday and it honestly could not have gone worse. I basically did a presentation on how I literally did nothing the entire year. It was one of the most embarrassing moments I have lived through. I look back on things and honestly regret the fact that I did nothing throughout the entire year and I kind of wish I would have finished the book because then I would have something to be proud of. :D

Week 12

Next week is the presentation for the 20% project. Presentations will be either Thursday or Friday and I am not very nervous. I already have an idea of what I am gong to say now all I need to do is actually get started on the power point. Mr.Lee just told me that I will be presenting on Friday and I think I would have preferred to present on Thursday just to get it over with. I am sort of nervous to present by myself but the good thing is that the presentations can not be over five minutes.I will try to make it at least three minutes because I do not want to just stand up there by myself for a long time. I think that my presentation won't be awful but it won't be absolutely amazing. It's weird to think that I have spent a whole year-it doesn't feel like it-working on a project and now it's coming to an end.

Week 10

I have written the beginning of my story and I'm pretty excited about it. Things are coming along pretty well and I can not wait for the finished project. I sort of changed what I was going to originally write for my 20% project. I sort of began to write a short story since I won't have the time to write an entire novel. I am typing the short story on my laptop and when I finish I will put it together in a "packet" complete with its own book cover. Starting today, I have three weeks left for the presentation. I will either present on Thursday or Friday and I am actually, as of today, not very scared or nervous to present. I don't have a fear of public speaking so I think that things will go pretty good. The presentation must be at least five minutes and we have to talk about our project, what we did, how it finally turned out, etc. I sort of began to think about what I should say and I think that I will start off with some sort of story.

Week 7

So recently I sort of began writing my children's book. I wrote a rough draft of how I want the story to be set up. I think that I will finish writing the story completely in a couple of weeks. The more I think about how I'm going to write my story, the more excited I get about how my story will end up looking when it's finally completed. I didn't realize how time consuming this project would actually be. I knew that it was going to be pretty difficult but I hadn't realized how so. Things are coming along splendidly and I just can't wait until things are finally finished.

Week 6

Today Mr. Lee gave us some work that we had to do. Our job is to fill out this group template that is basically an outline or a plan for our 20% project. We have to fill out a timeline that shows what we will be doing the days we have to work on the project during class. I think that it will actually help me out a lot to have a plan of what I'm going to do. As I was beginning to fill out the template, Mr. Lee came over to speak to me. He asked me what I was going to writ about and so I told him about my biggest idea and he actually liked it. He said that I had a good idea now all I have to do is begin to write it out. Today is Friday so I have the entire weekend to work on it.

Week 9

This week we had to work on one slide for the presentation that we will be presenting at the end of the 20% project. I began working on my first slide but I ha a hard time trying to pick out a background that described what my 20% project was about. I ended up choosing a background but Mr.Lee gave me some feedback about it so I changed it. I ended up choosing one that looked a lot better than what I had originally came up with.

Week 5

I have begun to brainstorm on all the topics that I could write my children's book about. I still want to get some sort of feel on what children want to read about. Basically that is my only problem because I have a couple of ideas. One idea that I'm sort of playing with is writing a story about a little girl that dreams about becoming a figure skater or a veterinarian and at the end, the story fast forwards to a time in the future where she finally did accomplish her dreams. I really do like the concept but I have no idea if that is something that children would want to read.I think that that is what I will write my book about. I want to ask Alex and Valerie what they will write about and if they have even begun to write anything. I think that we should have at least some sort of rough draft by the end of the month. If we don't then I think we will have to work extra harder. Our project so far is coming along okay.
